There was traffic, but not horrible. It took about 40 minutes. When we pulled in to Ko’Olina I was so impressed. It was absolutely gorgeous. We pulled in to Aulani and bellmen immediately started to unload our luggage. They said they could hold the car for thirty minutes while we checked in. Outside of the lobby we were greeted with leis. She had us put them on each other. Aria wanted a floral one, the kids get a menehune necklace. She said to come back later and they would have extras for her. I have video, but not pics of this darn it!
They walked us inside to check in. We went to the DVC line. They asked if I did online check in. I forgot that I had so they went out to get our stuff. I gave Aria my lei while in line so the CM got me another one.
The kids went to watch cartoons. Our resort credit was on the account. We had cancelled one night and the agency we booked through never gave us the refund. I was so nervous about this so it was a relief. I asked about getting high floor room and she said since I ordered an amenity to be delivered it would be difficult to change. She said if were disappointed to come back and they would move us.
We went to our room, 611. It was beautiful! I had ordered a fruit and cheese platter and a bottle of wine for Q and kei kei plates for the kids.
The kids were excited about the balcony. We had been upgraded from standard view to garden. Our view is of the outdoor spa area.
A few pics of the room. I didn’t take video before we exploded our stuff everywhere. I was just so tired.
The kids were dying to get in to swimsuits and head out. I unpacked all but one suitcase and we suited up and went downstairs. Antonio wanted to go straight to the beach. He promised seashells to his whole class.
As soon as we walked outside we ran in to Mickey Mouse. I was fast enough to get a picture on the go!
We had the stroller with us and we found that there was a nice paved path all the way to the beach. Antonio immediately found some boys digging a big hole and jumped in with them. Aria went straight to swimming.
Aria needed a restroom so we headed up to the pool area. Then she swam in the infinity pool for awhile. Q and Antonio were in the other bigger pool.
I checked our airfare which had gone down again. I was able to rebook for more credit and changed our flight on the way home to leaving from Oakland instead of San Francisco. Aria moved on to hot tub in a grotto type area and Q joined me in sitting in the edge for a bit.
It was getting closer and closer to 7 pm and I wanted to go to the DVC character meet and greet at that time so went to find Antonio. Aria joined him in the big pool for a bit. Then we dragged them out and up to the room. As Antonio whined his way up to the room I realized we still hadn’t eaten a meal since breakfast. #parentsoftheyear
