Pool, Lazy River, Beach, and Monkey Pod!

We made it down to the pool around 4 pm.  The kids wanted to start out in the big pool.  I got in with them this time.  The pool was so nice and huge!  There were some ladies singing and we made our way over there.  They invited kids to come hula.  Mine weren't interested.  Little stinkers.

I really wanted to hit up the lazy river next because it closes earlier than the pool so we headed that way.  On the way over, we saw the windows that open in to the Rainbow Reef where you can snorkel.  Sidenote, how awesome is Q's hat?  People always compliment it and wonder where we got it.  I got it at Disneyland when I ran the Disneyland half marathon.  It seemed like the entire half marathon was running in to the sun.  I was so tired of the sun!  We went straight to the park afterwards.  I was searching for a hat to keep the sun out of my eyes, and I found the Mickey umbrella hat.  My friend, who was not a Disney person, was like WTH are you wearing?!?!  It is now Quentin's pool hat.

The lazy river is so amazing.  We had to wait a bit to get a double tube, but not for long.  Although the lazy river doesn't take up much space, it felt decently long.  Obviously, it's not as big as the ones at the waterparks at Disney World, but it's way bigger than the one at our local YMCA.  It was beautiful as well.  So much foliage and theme throughout.  There was a place that with fountains that will spray on you, but you can go around to the other side and skip it.  There is a cave you go through that has waterfalls, but they can be easily avoided as well.  One of the coolest things was as you come out of the cave there are millions of little bubbles coming up.

The kids had a great time swimming in the lazy river. Neither of them were very interested in relaxing in a tube.  It was much more a of a swimming river for them.  One thing I left out, this is a LAZY river.  Think, Disney Beach Club's lazy river.  Very slow.  Maybe it's because the resort wasn't very busy so it made the flow slower?  I don't know.

We went around twice, then we decided to try out the slide.  We headed up the stairs and Antonio decided it was way too long of a line so he left.  It wasn't long at all.  Maybe 10 minutes.  I can't imagine what it would have been like on a non Corona Virus pandemic spring break.  The view from the stairs up to the slide was beautiful.

I have a super cute video of Aria's first time down the slide, but it videos don't work well on here.  Since I'm trapped at home for the foreseeable future, I'm probably going to make a YouTube movie of our trip as well when the blog is done.

You come down the slide straight in to the lazy river, so we stayed on until the next exit, which let us off at the kiddie play area.  Aria played there for a bit.

Next we headed down to the beach.  We got there a little after 5.  Thank goodness for time stamps on iPhone pics!  The kids mostly played in the sand.

Did you even go to the beach if you don't take a photo of your toes with the water in the background?

After awhile, Aria got cold and wanted to go to the hot tub. Antonio stayed at the beach and we headed up to the infinity pool and hot tub. I made him promise to only play in the sand.  The nice thing about Aria's favorite hot tub is that we could see the beach from there so I could watch Antonio.

The sun started to set and I said it was time to go change if Antonio wanted to go to the kids club for Tween Zone. Thank goodness for Tween Zone.  It was an easy way to make him get out of the pool/beach and get cleaned up.  He LOVED tween zone!  The walk to the beach to get him was GORGEOUS!

Aria wanted to stay with us. We walked across the street to Monkey Pod. We had a flight of beers/ciders, garlic truffle fries, and some type of delicious gnocchi. Aria passed out as soon as we got there. She did buy some cute mermaid clips in the store next door before she fell asleep.

We had to get back to the kids club by 9 to get Antonio.   When we got there he was having a great time. He loved tween zone at Aunties beach house. Then it was off to bed. We had Kualoa Ranch plans the next day.
